You can export your payments directly from the Payments page. Exports run in the background, so you can close the window and come back later to download the file once it is ready.

Export your payments

  1. Open the export modal. Go to Banking > Payments and click Export above the payments table. The export uses whatever filters and search you currently have applied to the payments table, including date range, recipients, status, amount, and search term.
  2. Choose whether to include remittance PDFs. Select Include remittance PDFs when available if you want a copy of each Karat-generated payment receipt bundled with the CSV.
    • When enabled, your export is delivered as a ZIP containing the CSV and one PDF per eligible Karat payment.
    • External payments are recorded in the CSV only; they do not have remittance PDFs.
    • When disabled, the export is a single CSV file.
  3. Start the export. Click Export. Karat creates an export job and adds it to the Recent exports list inside the modal. Small exports may finish immediately and download right away. Larger exports continue running in the background: you can close the modal and return later to download them.
  4. Download the file. Once an export shows the ready status, click the download icon next to it to save the CSV or ZIP to your computer.

Export history

Every export you create is listed inside the export modal so you can re-download it without re-running the report.
  • The most recent exports appear under Recent exports on the main modal view.
  • Click View more to open the full Export history, which lists all of your recent exports with scrollable pagination.
  • New exports created in your current session are marked with a New badge until you close the modal.
Each row shows the filters that were used, the export type (CSV or ZIP), the number of payments and PDFs included, when it was created, and when it expires.

Export statuses

Exports stay available for a limited time after they are generated. The expiration date is shown on each row: download the file before it expires, or run a new export.

Retrying a failed export

If an export fails, the row shows an error message and a Retry button. Clicking Retry starts a new export using the same filters as the failed job. There is no need to re-enter your filter selections.

Limits and duplicate exports

To keep exports responsive, Karat applies a few safeguards:
  • If you try to start an export with the exact same filters as one that is already running, Karat returns the existing job instead of starting a duplicate.
  • If you create exports very frequently, you may be asked to wait a short time before starting another one. The modal shows how long to wait.
If an export takes longer than expected, it is automatically marked as failed so you can retry it.

Who can export payments

Exporting payments requires the same access as the Payments product. See How to access Payments for role requirements. Karat is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank.
