Submitting a manual payment
To make a payment:- On the Card dashboard, click make a payment
- Enter the payment amount
- Select the bank account the payment should be processed from
- Submit the payment
Paying from a bank with an expired connection
If a bank connection has expired, that bank still appears in the account dropdown labeled (reconnect required). Selecting it shows a warning that the connection has expired, and the Submit payment button stays disabled until you reconnect. To reconnect without leaving the payment flow:- In the payment window, select the bank labeled (reconnect required)
- Click Manage accounts in the warning that appears
- Follow the prompts to reconnect the bank through Plaid
- Return to the payment form and submit your payment
Updating autopay bank accounts
Manually linked bank accounts must be verified with micro-deposits before you can choose them for autopay. Until then, the account shows a Needs verification badge and Set Autopay stays disabled. To verify, see Verifying a manually linked account.
- In the Karat dashboard, go to Settings > Charge Card
- Locate the Autopay Account section
- Use the dropdown to select a different linked bank account
What happens if your autopay bank connection is deleted
If the bank connection used for autopay is invalidated, autopay is automatically paused. You will see a red warning banner when you open Connections indicating that the autopay connection needs attention. To resume autopay:- Go to Settings > Connections
- Select the bank marked with a red error icon
- Click Connect [bank name] to create a new connection through Plaid
- After connecting, select a checking account to use for autopay
Reconnect your bank promptly to avoid missed payments. If autopay remains paused through a billing cycle, you may need to submit a manual payment to stay current.
