What should I handle while switching to Karat Banking?

Switching banks can feel like a big step, but we’ve got you covered with this simple to do list to make your transition smooth!

  1. Open Your New Bank Account with Karat

    • Apply at trykarat.com

    • Once approved, you'll receive an update via text and email.

    • Fund your Karat banking account in your dashboard at app.trykarat.com/signin by clicking 'Add Money'.

    • You can start using your virtual card right away while you wait for your new card!

    • Direct deposits (e.g. payroll, brand payouts, etc).

    • Automatic bill payments (business services, utilities, subscriptions, etc).

    • Linked services (PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, etc.).

  3. Move Your Money

    • Transfer over any balance you don’t want to keep in your old account.

    • Keep enough in your old account to cover pending transactions.

  4. Switch Direct Deposits

    • Update any client or brands that use direct deposit with your new bank info.

  5. Update Bill Payments & Subscriptions

    • Utilities (gas, electric, water)

    • Rent or mortgage

    • Insurance

    • Streaming services

    • Credit cards

    • Any other recurring payments
